1月16日に社会科学高等研究院 MIC、経営管理研究科 CAREM共催2023年度第7回国際リサーチセミナー開催しました。

　2024年1月、本学は、著名な学者であり、オーストラリアのサンシャイン・コースト大学で会計・財務・経済学のディシプリン・リードを務めるFerdinand A. Gul客員教授をお迎えしました。

　Gul教授は、オーストラリア、ディーキン・ビジネススクールにおいて、大学で最も名誉あるアルフレッド・ディーキン・プロフェッサー（会計・財務）を経て、オーストラリアの社会科学アカデミーのフェローに選ばれるという栄誉に輝いています。その研究は有名で、米国のブリガム・ヤング世界会計尺度（US Brigham Young world accounting scale）では、実証監査におけるアーカイブ研究で世界第7位にランクされています。Gul教授の研究は『Journal of Accounting Research』, 『Journal of Accounting and Economics』, 『The Accounting Review』, 『Contemporary Accounting Research』, 『Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory』, 『Journal of Financial Economics』,『Journal of Corporate Finance』, 『Accounting Organizations and Society』, 『Management Science』を含む一流ジャーナルに掲載されています。

　来日中、Gul教授は本学の教員と個別にミーティングを行い、共同研究の機会を探りました。1月16日には、「Ideas and Opportunities for Accounting and Finance Research」と題したセミナーを開催し、教員と大学院生が参加しました。このセミナーは、私たちのアカデミック・コミュニティに貴重な洞察とインスピレーションを与える啓発的なものとなりました。Gul教授の訪問は、私たちの知的環境を豊かにするだけでなく、私たちの大学とサンシャイン・コースト大学との将来的な共同研究の可能性の扉を開きました。

　In January 2024, our university welcomed Visiting Professor Ferdinand A. Gul, a distinguished academic and the Discipline Lead in Accounting, Finance, and Economics at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia.

　Formerly the Alfred Deakin Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Deakin Business School, Australia, Professor Gul holds the honor of being an elected Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. Renowned for his research, he ranks 7th globally in the US Brigham Young world accounting scale for archival research in empirical auditing. His work is published in top-tier journals, including the Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Corporate Finance, Accounting Organizations and Society, and Management Science.

　During his visit, Professor Gul engaged with our faculty in individual meetings, exploring collaborative research opportunities. On January 16, he delivered a seminar titled "Ideas and Opportunities for Accounting and Finance Research," drawing participation from both faculty members and research students. The seminar proved enlightening, providing valuable insights and inspiration for our academic community. Professor Gul's visit not only enriched our intellectual environment but also opened doors for potential future collaborations between our institution and the University of the Sunshine Coast.
